Presli's first request for our Saturday was to go to the bakery. Here is a peak into the bakery and you can imagine why it was her first request....
We stopped at the bakery and then went to Parque Taqueral, Connor's request, and ate our bakery items.
lemon pie...brigadeiro (a popular Brazilian treat, Presli's favorite)...misto quente (an awesome hot sandwich with meat, cheese, and egg)
Parque Taquaral is one of our favorites in Campinas. The kids love playing in the park area, it is gorgeous, there is a great path for walking/running, food, etc. I probably go there at least once a week.
Our weekend was very simple, but so nice to get out and spend some quality family time together. I love the kids imaginations and their thirst for learning. Connor thinks dad is the smartest. It's so cute to listen to their thoughts. This age is seriously the best.
Not too much has been going on lately. The kids are in winter school which they love. The month of July is a break from school in Brazil. Their school does a winter program where they meet later in the day and focus on an activity a day. For example, one day they learn all about traffic rules, signs, etc. Another day they do art, or shopping. You get the point....they have a theme for each day. The kids have really liked it.
Devin has been super busy with work lately. It's a good busy, but we do miss him. He is such a good dad to try and juggle his time with the kids as well. They all think the world of him and value their time with him.
This week has been a little stressful for me. I have been preparing and studying my talk that I gave in sacrament meeting today. It was easily the hardest thing I have done yet in Brazil. I know some words and I feel pretty comfortable reading Portuguese, but to read Portuguese to a congregation who is fluent was a little nerve racking. There were so many times I wanted to call my bishop and tell him I couldn't do it. I wrote out my talk and translated as much as I could and then Devin fixed what needed fixed. I went over it every day this past week...and read it to Devin at least 20 times to help me with my pernunciation. I still have a long ways to go on learning Portuguese, but was proud of myself for doing it!
Here's to a less stress filled week....

That would be hard to talk in a different language. But I am sure that you did just fine! I love that jumping picture of Connor- so cute!

Bakery and Parque taquaral!! Really some of the best things we have in Campinas. Hahah. I can't believe you actually gave a talk in Portuguese! That is awesome. I am sure I could not do the same in a different language. Any how, we are here in the US. Let me know through a facebook message of you need anything. ;)
