The 4th here in Brazil started off like a regular day. We talked about doing something to celebrate and I hoped that we would see fireworks because Brazil was playing in the World Cup, but I left satisfied with our celebration here in Brazil. Our new normal. It was our first holiday we celebrated on our own, without the rest of Brazil celebrating as well.
Devin went into work and I took the kids to the pool. It was a nice hot day like I am sure most in the States had. The kids are getting pretty dang good little swimmers! They are swimming with and without their floaties. Connor is doing tricks like nobodies business.
The GIANT butterfly that was stuck in our entry way...he finally made it outside. He is the size of my hand. The picture really doesn't do it justice.
Dev called and said he got a bunch of fireworks and he was coming to get us to watch the Brazil game. We got all dressed up to celebrate the 4th...we were torn between Brazil or American colors.
Brazil played in the World Cup and WON!! It was a great start to our celebrations. We got together with friends and co-workers to watch the game at Vigzul.
Afterwards we went to Alphaville to light off fireworks. I left that night completely satisfied with our celebrations.
Getting ready to watch the big firework show Devin and Daniel put on for us...
They were loud...but perfect. It isn't the 4th without a firework show.
We continued celebrating on Saturday. We went to Connor's soccer game.
Later that evening we drove to Pedra Grande Atibaia
Here is a picture I snagged off of google images so you can get a better feel for where we were. It is one huge solid rock. You can see the little specks that are cars parked on top...that's where we were.

The ride up was rough. It felt like we were back home in the mountains. The view at the top was gorgeous! We got there just in time to see the last little bit of the sunset.
Ready to watch our last firework show...Devin and Bryce lit this one up. We enjoyed it all.
We hope you all had a very Happy 4th of July. Sending our American Pride from Brazil. This year emotionally the 4th was very different for me. I truly am so grateful to be American. We have it VERY good in the United States. We have so many who work so hard to help keep America Safe and Free. Thank you.
FUN TO CATCH UP...WE SURE MISSED YOU....PRAYERS SENT YOUR WAY EVERY DAY !! LOVE YOU ALL! MADRE
