Vila Antiga

Dawson and I were spontaneous and ran to Vila Antigua this afternoon. I have heard, from quite a few people, that its a fun antique village....and that their food is great Brazilian food. We didn't eat food but we did walk around and decided we better bring the kids and Dev sometime.

As I ran with one of my friends a topic was brought up that I have really been thinking about. We were talking about how LDS girls get married young. I was 22 when Devin and I got married. Not the typical 19-20yr old in the Latter-day Saint culture. I then started thinking how a lot of main...life changing decisions are made at such a young age. Who do I marry? Should I go to college? What college should I go to? When should I have kids? What should by profession be? As a mom, Should I work? I quickly realized I was directed a lot....and so grateful for Heavenly Father's hand and help to place me where I am right now in life.
When I got home I was listening to Elder Scott's talk from the recent General Conference titled "I Have Given You an Example" I LOVE how this happens some times. I listen to a talk or read a scripture that is exactly what I was thinking about. It's awesome. The Lord is so good. Anyway, Elder Scott says, "As you consistently focus your life on the most basic principles, you will gain an understanding of what you are to do, and you will produce more fruit for the Lord and more happiness for yourself." A few things hit me in this simple quote: 1. Basic Principles are KEY (praying and reading scriptures everyday) 2. If you do this the Lord will help you in life. Help you make important decisions. 3. Not only will you be helping the Lord but you will be helping yourself.  It's awesome how that works.
Long story short I am grateful for the Lords help so far in life. I am grateful I married Devin, he is my best friend. I am grateful I went to school. I am grateful I went to BYU-Idaho. I am grateful I have three children whom I adore. I am grateful I get to be at home with the kids and help build and teach them.
God is good. He has recently helped me with some questions and I am so grateful for his guidance and influence in my life. I would be so lost without him and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  1. A comida deles é bem gostosa mesmo. Meus filhos gostaram muito desse lugar, fomos uma única vez e correndo, quero voltar para apreciar mais e ver esses detalhes todos! (Pena que o Planetário só abre no domingo)
