This morning I was listening to a talk by Sister Jean A Stevens who spoke Sunday Morning at the recent General Conference. Her talk, "Fear Not; I Am with Thee" could not be more true! God is with us. I need to develop greater faith and trust in the Lord so I can access his power to bless my life. I can already see the effects through each of you.
I wanted to post a more positive post sooner than later because life is good. I realized I haven't really posted much about our housing. I really want this for my records. We are still waiting on our container to arrive from the US with the rest of our items. We are doing great with what we have, but it will be so nice once it does arrive. Here is our living area as of today. I will post updated pictures once we get everything settled in a couple months.
Master bedroom. Here are most of our outlets. We have to have adapters for anything we brought from America...the items we bought here, obviously don't need the adapters they are two or three prong like this.
Master Bathroom and closets...I love all the storage closets here....It rocks! Because we are still waiting on our shipment I can't hang all our clothes. Hangers here are about $4 for a bundle of 6. Soooo...I would rather wait and see how many hangers I ended up packing and then buy more if we need them. Oh how I wish I could remember what I packed. It was only 2 months ago....it has been a crazy 2 months and hangers were the last thing I was worried about. There are lots of little odds and ends, the hangers are one example. Its all part of the process. The process I wouldn't trade for anything. I am grateful to be here in Brazil and to experience all we have so far! I am blessed.Because we are on the 15th floor when it is windy it is really windy. Our windows stay open all day every day. These door stops come in handy so the doors don't slam when the wind gets going. They are awesome.
Presli's room. I feel like we are living in piles...thank goodness for the storage area that was already in our housing.
The boys room.
Living Area
Half Bath
Kitchen and laundry
Service door. This door is used for services. They don't come through the front door.
That is pretty much our living area. I will post updated pictures once we are completely settled.....but this is us for now.
I really needed Sister Jean A Stevens' talk today. "We can trust that He will help us, not necessarily in the way we want but in the way that will best help us to grow. Submitting our will to His may be difficult, but it is essential to becoming like Him and finding the peace He offers us." It is hard to trust and completely rely on our Heavenly Father, but honestly he does know what is best for each of us. That is when we show Him our faith. Knowing that he will be there as we walk with weak knees. He is there to pick us up when we fall. "...Father knows us and hears the pleadings of our hearts. He accomplishes His miracles one prayer at a time, one person at a time."
In her talk she quotes CS Lewis: "I pray because I can't help myself. ...I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God. It changes me."
In the mean time I am CHERISHING the alone time I get with this little man every day. He will always be my baby, but he isn't so baby-like anymore. He is growing up WAAAY too fast. I know we say that about all of our kids, but it's the truth. I will take the time I can get with this cute toothy grin.
