crunch time

I need to take a breather tonight and decided to updated the blog. We are almost...almost ready to go. Not only is there a lot of cleaning and physically moving our items but we need to figure out where to put our items for 5 years, where to send our mail, how our renters send us money....little odds and ends that you usually don't think about unless you are moving out of the country. Its pretty exciting and stressful all at the same time.
Dev came back from Brazil and started cranking away at stuff with me. Tuesday this little...actually big package showed up at our door step. He spoils me. Thanks babe! I am beyond excited to learn more about this camera by capturing our experience by picture. I want the kids to remember this chapter in our lives....and pictures are a great way to re-live our experience.
I am so proud of Dev. He hasn't missed a beat getting home. Taking time to play with the kids (who were in need of some good quality parent time)...helping me get things finished up...plus keeping up on his work across the country. I sure snagged a good one. I am beyond blessed.
Our suitcases now fill our dining area. I designated this room for items we are taking to Brazil....its been hard to keep everything straight. What are we taking? What are we storing? What are we selling? What are we sending to DI? What can we donate to local shelters who are in need? Garbage....ummm I guess anything leftover we will just junk. Ha! It's been a little stressful I am not going to lie. Adding a time limit on top is great, but it has me on edge. It will get done....it has to.
Everything is working out. Even though it has been stressful it's all getting done. We have been able to sell the things we need to. Getting transportation was a huge one...just trying to figure out how to get 7-8 large suitcases 4-5 small and carry-ons and all 5 of us to the airport...without a vehicle. Good joke, right? Thank goodness Dev called to arrange everything today. He got everything lined up with enough time to get a vehicle without spending over a grand. Yeah, if we waited one more day it would have been a grand for one vehicle for two days.
I think it is important to record these struggles and feelings we are having...but still see the Lord's hand work in our lives. Even though it has been tough we are watched over. Not only watched over but blessed with great friends who are really helping us out once we leave. Timing is a huge part of this process from saying good-byes, selling items, packing (ETC) and it has been perfect. I have no doubt that Brazil is where we are suppose to be at this time in our lives. I am ready for this adventure, as many have called it. I know it will be challenging and I am ready to embrace the culture and learn a "new normal". Once again, God knows exactly what we need. His timing is a blessing.
