Verdade::Truth

What a beautiful weekend. It was the perfect combination of family, inspiration, good food and time that made it complete. We were able to participate in General Conference with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I feel so honored and blessed to be part of such an organized, understanding and educated organization. As we completed this weekend I could not help but feel an overwhelming love and appreciation for the leaders of the church. For their love and sacrifice for each of us. I know they are called by God. I think M. Russell Ballard said it best in his talk Sustaining the Prophets " Our sustaining of prophets is a personal commitment that we will do our utmost to uphold their prophetic priorities. Our sustaining is an oath-like indication that we recognize their calling as a prophet to be legitimate and binding upon us." I know this to be truth. If you didn't hear his talk, read or listen to it. It really lays out how organized the Lord is, how He will not let His church be led astray.
 The kids were excited to have a sleep over Saturday night in the front room. Dad went to the Priesthood session (it was at 9:00PM in Brazil) while we watched a movie. They all thought it was pretty neat. Also, we met up with Friends Friday and did Café Rio night (because we miss it) and it was so good! We had leftovers the next day and I even made homemade tortillas. Delish!
 Snuggling with Dawson Sunday Afternoon while he took his nap. It was bliss. He has started an obsession with Cars it's pretty cute hearing him yell "caaz! caaz! caaz!" because he can't say his "r's" yet. I love this stage, learning at such a rapid rate.
 Connor loves to draw the speakers. It makes for great entertainment between speakers to see what he comes up with. You never know what he will think of next. This was Elder Lynn G. Robbins and his hand movement.
 Being Dr. removing Dawson's stitches.

 So, I feel like Heavenly Father's tender mercy was making the weekend feel like Fall. The weather was chilly and I have perfected pumpkin treats. It made the weekend so enjoyable...on top of the incredible messages shared through Conference.

Coming to Brazil was really an easy choice, but once getting here there have been a few really hard things. As I listened to Elder Carlos A. Godoy talk The Lord Has a Plan for Us! I had an overwhelming feeling of peace, knowing we are where we need to be. The icing on the cake was Elder Godoy being from Brazil and spoke in Portuguese! How neat is it that our leaders get to speak their native tongue?! Oh how I can empathize with them.

Overall a great weekend. I feel re-energized to do and be better. That's what Conference is for, right? So...I would consider it a success.

  1. HI, my dearest!!! I know it probably seems weird hearing from me, seems how I am on no social media :) You all look so good and happy! So happy for you to get to have this experience! Have to say though, seeing your mom with your children sure melted my heart! There is just something about a mom and grandma. So glad she gets to come for visits. LOVE YA!

  2. Conference time is so refreshing! Aren't we blessed to get to hear from our Prophet and apostles as well as others every 6 months? Blessings are poured over us.
    Sounds like you had a great conference weekend!
