Soccer....10K....Father's Day

Another random post this week. The World Cup has begun! Brazil played on Friday. The kids were let out early from school...pretty much everything shuts down when Brazil plays. It's pretty crazy, but really cool that they have so much support.

They painted the kids faces and Presli made this flag at school. It is such a fun atmosphere!
The boys got home about half way through the game and we all met up at Bryce and Keisha's. Fireworks and horns were going off all over....all day long. Dawson was sitting with all the guys watching soccer. This little man loves balls. Loves them.

Saturday night Devin and I ran a 10K. It was PACKED and so energizing.  Last year when we ran our full and 1/2 marathons we were talking about how cool it would be to run a race in every state. Little did we know we would be running one in a different COUNTRY! It was cool to see that regardless of race we all have a common interest in helping our bodies. It was awesome. This race was so full of life. I can't wait for our next one.
We ran it with friends as well. Lilian on the left is from our ward and Stephen on the right is also from Idaho, he is doing an internship here.
Last but not least we celebrated this guy on Sunday! Father's Day in Brazil is in Aug, so we get to celebrate him twice. Fair enough for a guy who works extra hard for his family. I honestly couldn't have chosen a better husband. I love him more and more every day. His ability to help me progress and grow, along with teaching me and the children new things is astounding.

Moving here to Brazil I didn't even hesitate. A lot of people told me I was brave and that they could never do something like this. Well, to be honest I haven't looked back once because I know Devin is by my side. He is my rock. He has an ability to help push people for growth, but is there every step of the way. It is so neat to watch him with the kids. They adore him.

So, on top of moving here and taking care of us, he is helping start up this new company....in a different language. I understood what we would be doing here...but I guess it didn't really hit me what it would require of Devin. I am amazed by him and his ambition. Yeah, he speaks Portuguese but it is his second language. To build nothing into something in a different language is kind of a big deal. At least to me. Especially trying to learn the language myself.

In a nutshell...I think he is pretty awesome and I am glad he is ours....forever!
It is only fitting to recognize our Father's as well. We are who we are today because of them and I am so grateful. They have both taught us much in life. We are grateful for their examples. We love you!
