Limeira was another one of Dev's areas. We visited here last week and then we went to church this Sunday.
soccer stadium (they call it futebal here)
a stoplight that counts down. pretty cool I thought.
the grocery store dev would go to on his mission.
the owner of this car parked in the middle of the road doing some repairs.
the church dev went to on his mission. the church we went to this pas sunday.
dev's entrance to his house he stayed in on his mission. it is the house in the back with the red roof. he was there for 9 months and said it was full of lots of cockroaches. thank goodness we don't have roaches at our house...yet anyway.
dev randomly stopped at this house and he said this was one of the people he baptized. he told me to wait and he would be right back. he totally surprised them. they were all so, so excited to see him. it was so cool to watch. he kept telling me he cried and cried when devin was transferred. it is so cool to see the instant re-connection. pres had an instant love for their dog, thor. she would not let it out of her sight.
they still had the photos of dev, his companion, and eric on their mantle. pretty neat because this was 10 years ago.
....and here they are 10 years later.
all of us on sunday. it was fast and testimony meeting. there were so many people just so excited to see "elder harris" again. they didn't know what else to call him. so neat. connor bore his testimony with dad. he was so brave and they all did so great. I am so blessed to have my little family.
a photographers dream(; so fun to reconnect with past friends. love the reaction. i'm sure Devin made a huge impact on them. ps. Pres looks so grown up with her longer hair!
ReplyDeleteIt has all been so neat. To hear the stories...to meet the people, etc. I really enjoy it. It strengthens my testimony as I hear and experience it all. Such a neat experience. Pres IS getting too big. She has grandma's lipstick she has to put on every time we leave to go somewhere. It is pretty dang cute. I will have to capture it sometime.
Deleteok....this is enough for any mom to cry cry cry.....the power of the gospel in peoples life, and to know that your son touched and changed a life of a family FOREVER.....So proud of my missionary children! What a pay off for Dev to witness the fruits of his labors. I cant imagine the joy you all are experiencing. SO EXCITING!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome RaKae. I think it is so neat that Devin is reuniting with those that he taught in the mission field. How awesome for you and your kids to meet those people.
